CHILDREN’S DAY

Vachana Foundation a unit of SPARSH Hospital Group celebrates Children’s Day with a free pediatric screening along with fun filled activity of painting competition, singing competition and face art. Students from Acharya institute of Graduate studies volunteered for the programme.

The Half a day event for 70 children from humble backgrounds began with a pediatric screening. Children included were orphaned, single parent headed households going to Government schools, children from economically challenged backgrounds and children of SPARSH Hospital group. The kids who participated in the screening were from Blessing Home, Ashadeep, Bridge camp Girls Home, Government schools and included some staff children.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Shekar Patil Renowned Medical oncologist and board member Sparsh Foundation. Dr. Shekar Patil stresses on the need for changing lives and reaching out to every child’s need both medically and socially. Children had a fun time and many of them thanked Vachana Foundation – an affiliate of Sparsh Hospital Group for involving them in the painting and singing competition and health screening. Children were given gifts, mementos, balls, pens, sippers, note books, painting books and sweets. Certificates of participation for the children and volunteers were distributed to children. Judges stated that the paintings were of high value, very artistic and original.

The doctors Nurses and staff from all the departments made this event possible with a smile on the children’s faces. Snacks such as sandwiches, badam milk in the morning and a sumptuous lunch with veg biryani, curd rice, raitha and rava ladoo ended the event. First Aid kits were distributed to the institutions for use in emergencies.

Children’s day was celebrated for the patrons with a ward visit at the Women and Children unit. Mothers and children were happy with the sweets, cake and mementos on children’s day..
